Scottish independence map suggests how country would vote - and Edinburgh is still 'no'

A detailed map has broken down how each of Scotland's local authorities might now vote for Scottish Independence.

Based on a new Panelbase survey, carried out in June, Ballot Box Scotland produced a colour-coded map.

You can see the sub-national map below, which provides a graphic for a uniform swing projection.

According to the map, the capital would still vote no when it came to independence -though, it was on the cusp of becoming a "yes".

Meanwhile, other parts West Lothian would vote yes, as would Midlothian but East Lothian would remain a "no".

Elsewhere, Dundee was singled out as the council area found to be overwhelmingly in favour, with 65%+ in favour of Scotland leaving the union.

And, while there's no guarantee that this is how votes would play out in another referendum, it provides a revealing overview.

The survey by Panelbase also suggests support for independence has increased, showing a 54-46 vote when people who haven't made up their mind are removed from the findings.

Though, when seven per cent of "don't knows" are included in the latest results, it suggests 50 per cent support independence.

The last four polls by Panelbase have suggested a growing trend with an increase for independence among all voters each time, reports.
